In-School ABA Therapy
School is where your child spends a big chunk of their day — and sometimes that's exactly where they need support. In-school ABA brings therapy into the classroom, working alongside teachers and your child's IEP team so help shows up where it's needed.
A closer look at in-school aba therapy
In-school ABA therapy delivers Applied Behavior Analysis support in your child's school setting rather than at home. It helps children apply skills and manage challenges in the place where many of their toughest moments — and biggest opportunities — actually happen.
A BCBA designs the plan and oversees the work, while a Registered Behavior Technician provides support during the school day, helping your child with things like attending to lessons, following classroom routines, navigating social situations with peers, and handling transitions. The focus is on helping your child participate and learn alongside their classmates.
This service is delivered in close coordination with the school. We work with your child's teachers and IEP or support team so everyone is aligned and strategies stay consistent between the classroom, therapy, and home. It complements — rather than replaces — the supports the school provides.
Who benefits most
How it actually works
It starts with coordination. Because in-school services involve your child's school and district, we work with you and the school team to align on goals, secure the necessary approvals, and plan how ABA support will fit into the school day.
Once underway, your child's RBT provides support in the classroom and other school settings under the BCBA's direction — helping with focus, routines, social moments, and tricky transitions, always in a way that fits the classroom rather than disrupting it. Your BCBA observes, collects data, and refines the plan.
Throughout, we stay in communication with teachers, the IEP team, and you, so strategies are consistent everywhere your child goes. The goal is for your child to be more successful and independent during the school day — and for the adults around them to be working from the same playbook.
How Getting Started Works
From your first phone call to your child's first session — and every step after — here's exactly how it goes.
Talk to a BCBA
Call, text, or fill out the form. A real person picks up, and a BCBA calls you back for an honest conversation about your child — no scripts, no sales pitch.
In-Home Assessment
Your BCBA meets your child where they're comfortable — at home — to understand their strengths, their challenges, and what matters most to your family.
We Verify Your Insurance
We call your insurance, confirm your benefits, and tell you exactly what's covered before anything starts. Most Iowa families pay little or nothing. Zero surprises.
Therapy Starts at Home
We match your child with the therapist who's the right fit and build a plan around their goals. Sessions start in the comfort of your home, on your schedule.
Progress You Can See
Your BCBA tracks every goal and reviews the data with you regularly. You'll always know what's working, what's next, and how far your child has come.
We Stick With You
As your child grows, we adjust the plan, keep coaching you, and stay just a text away. This is a long-haul partnership — not a drop-off and goodbye.
Questions About In-School ABA Therapy
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, just call or text us.
Yes — coordination is central to in-school ABA. We work alongside your child's teachers and IEP or support team to align goals and keep strategies consistent across the classroom, therapy, and home. ABA support is meant to complement the school's services, not work around them.
Our goal is the opposite. Your RBT works to support your child within the natural flow of the classroom and to build independence over time. We coordinate closely with the teacher so support fits the classroom environment and helps your child participate more fully.
Schools provide their own services and supports, often through an IEP. In-school ABA adds individualized, BCBA-supervised behavioral support focused specifically on your child's goals, delivered in coordination with the school. The two work together to give your child consistent help.
When it's medically necessary and part of an ABA treatment plan for autism, it's generally covered by Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and other commercial plans, with Iowa Medicaid coming soon. Because in-school services also involve the school and district, we'll help you sort out coverage and coordination before starting.
